Aberdeen Asset Management has, reportedly, formed a seven-member task force group to drive the growth of its alternatives, multi-asset and quantitative investments divisions.
Based in London, the Aberdeen Solutions Investment Specialists team will be led by Christian Howells, formerly the firm’s hedge funds product specialist, according to efinancialnews.com.

Howells will report in to Hans Benenga, Aberdeen’s global deputy head of distribution.
The new team will include alternatives, investment solutions as well as long only multi-asset investment, and quantitative investments. The team was formed of internal hires from Aberdeen and Swip.
The unit has been expanded after the addition of Swip’s investment solutions, quantitative investments and alternative strategies teams.
The specialist team, which will manage about £125bn, intends to hire new senior staff in the United States, Asia and London in the coming months.
