A former senior executive of VTB Capital, Atanas Bostandjiev, has launched a new London-based emerging markets asset manager called Gemcorp.
Gemcorp has till date raised $500 million from European institutional investors and will have a lock-up period of five years.

The firm will mainly focus on financial services, natural resources, infrastructure and sovereign sectors and aims to invest in emerging market companies requiring debt and equity.
The new company will initiate and execute deals with companies in which it invests as principal and will also offer investment advice.
Previously, Bostandjiev also served as a partner at Goldman Sachs.
The new company, which now employs a team of 17, also includes Selim Basak, previously managing director and head of emerging market sales at Merrill Lynch and Parvoleta Shtereva, formerly executive director at Goldman Sachs.
