American accounting, tax, and consulting firms CohnReznick and Watkins Meegan have signed a letter of intent to combine practices, which is due to take effect from 1 November 2014.

CohnReznick operates with 26 offices- three in Maryland and Virginia – that comprise more than 600 employees, and offers dedicated industry practices, specialized assurance, tax, and advisory services.

The combined entity will have revenues worth about $600m, about 300 Partners, nearly 2750 employees, and will operate with 28 offices.

Watkins Meegan, founded in 1975, has 13 partners and 200 employees, and generates revenues of $40m.

The firm serves government contractors, the real estate and construction industries, not-for-profit and hospitality industries with offices in Bethesda, Tysons Corner, Herndon, and Annapolis.
