Tilney Smith & Williamson, the newly merged £47bn wealth manager, has named Mayank Prakash as its chief technology officer.

Prakash will also join the group executive committee.

Background

He most recently was the chief consumer digital & information officer at FTSE 100 utilities group Centrica.

In this role, he was responsible for spearheading its digital integration across 14 brands.

He also worked as the chief digital & information officer at the UK Department of Work & Pensions (DWP).

He also had stints Morgan Stanley Wealth and Asset Management and Sage Group.

Tilney Smith & Williamson was formed through the recent combination of British wealth manager Tilney and its rival Smith & Williamson.

The merged business is the third-largest wealth manager in the UK.

It is also the UK’s fourth-largest wealth manager by AuM.

This June, the two companies agreed on a revised deal structure for their merger.

Moreover, private equity firm Warburg Pincus agreed to co-invest in the merged group along with funds from Permira.

Tilney Smith & Williamson recently named John Bunch as its chief commercial director, financial services.

Previously, Bunch was the COO and executive vice president of Edelman Financial Engines.
