Southeastern Trust, a Tennessee-based boutique private wealth manager catering to HNW families in the US, has appointed Britt Messer as its new CIO.

In the new role, Messer will oversee and optimise portfolio construction and investment management on behalf of HNW families who are clients of the firm.

At the same time, he will be in charge of the firm’s Nashville market expansion initiatives.

Messer noted: “The firm has a well-known reputation throughout the region for its expertise in providing a family office experience to its clients.

“I am deeply familiar with the Atlanta, Chattanooga, and Nashville markets and look forward to helping clients of Southeastern Trust design, build, and transfer their legacies.”

Messer joins from Truist Bank (previously SunTrust). He worked in the private wealth management unit at this firm for the past 20 years.

He formerly worked as an analyst in the investment advisory group of SunTrust. He was a portfolio manager in the firm’s Atlanta and Chattanooga offices and was latterly the senior vice president and investment strategist in Nashville.
