Dubbed Frieze Viewing Room, the virtual fair has been launched following the cancellation of the annual Frieze New York on Randall’s Island on account of the Covid-19 crisis.

Through the fair, online visitors will be able to gain access to 200 virtual gallery spaces as well as track works by artist, price, medium, gallery and section.

The virtual fair will also enable visitors to buy art pieces and view the art on their walls leveraging augmented reality (AR) technology.

Moreover, it will provide clients access to the Deutsche Bank Viewing Room – the virtual version of the bank’s wealth management client lounge.

The two parties will also present a virtual event with UK performance artist Tom Pope called “Deutsche Bank Collection Live”.

Deutsche Bank Wealth Management global head Claudio de Sanctis said: “We have been partners with Frieze since the inception of their extraordinary journey and have always admired and tried to emulate their capacity to be innovative.

“When we knew there could no longer be a physical event for Frieze New York, we were inspired to seize this difficult moment to create a new way of interacting with our clients and making a positive impact through art.”

Frieze holds annual fairs in London, New York along with Los Angeles.
