Mackie Research Financial, the parent company of IIROC investment dealer Mackie Research Capital Corporation, has agreed to acquire Jennings Capital pursuant to the terms of a definitive agreement.
Jennings Capital, a Wealth Management and Investment Banking firm headquartered in Calgary, Alberta, was founded in 1993 by Rob Jennings and is registered nationally with over 40 employees.

Jennings Capital’s established investment banking reputation in the upstream resource sector and its supporting industries will substantially enhance Research Capital’s well established coverage within the international oil & gas, mining, diversified, technology and healthcare sectors.
A number of Jennings Capital’s senior partners will join Research Capital’s leadership team, including David McGorman, (as Vice Chairman, Head of Western Canada Investment Banking), Brian Imrie (as Managing Director, Investment Banking) and, Doug Van Peteghem (as Managing Director, Sales/Trading).
In addition, David Donato (former Senior Managing Director at Jennings Capital) will be joining Research Capital as Managing Director, Investment Banking. The combined capital markets platform will allow Research Capital to further increase its focus on the financing and investment needs of its clients.
The definitive agreement is subject to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approvals. Closing is anticipated on or about December 1, 2014.
