National Australia Bank (NAB) has hired Jason Murray as general manager for its private wealth arm.

Murray has 20 year of experience in the banking industry, including 12 years in capital markets, reports Financial Standard.

Christine Yates, executive general manager of NAB Private Wealth, said, "Jason’s deep knowledge of capital markets means he is uniquely placed to strengthen the offering of our private wealth business, in particular enabling private client access to institutional capital markets offerings."

Most recently, Murray was designated as chief financial officer at mining firm Sirius Minerals.

Before that, he served as head of capital markets at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (Australia), where he sat on the executive committee.

Murray earlier also served as head of debt capital markets at Citibank, as well as worked in various roles at JP Morgan in Sydney, London and New York.
