Lazard Asset Management (LAM) has expanded its global multi asset team by appointing Rupert Hope as new director and portfolio manager.

Based in New York, Hope will be responsible for expanding the firm’s emerging market and global multi asset solution platform.

Hope joined Lazard from Renaissance Capital, where he served as a managing director and co-head of global equity distribution, developing a global emerging markets equity research platform.

Prior to this, he worked with Deutsche Bank as a managing director responsible for managing various emerging markets equity teams.

Jai Jacob, head of the multi asset investment team at LAM, said: With more than 20 years of experience, Rupert has the specific set of skills needed to translate client needs into investment objectives and active allocation decisions."

LAM and affiliated asset management companies in the Lazard Group had managed $198bn worth of client assets as of 30 September 2014.
