International law firm Simmons & Simmons is planning to open a new office in Luxembourg in a bid to expand its global offering to clients.

The new Luxembourg office will cater the needs of clients in the asset management & investment funds and financial institutions sectors.

The firm said the office aims to serve clients particularly about private funds formation, corporate structuring, UCITS, hedge funds, capital markets, banking, and tax matters.

The new office will be headed by Stéphane Ober, who joined the firm as the partner.

In his new role, Ober will work alongside four other new partners namely Louis-Maël Cogis, Viviane De Moreau d’Andoy, José Ignacio Pascual Gutiérrez and Pierre-Régis Dukmedjian as well as by a team of associates.
