The interview process does not mean that prosecutors will file criminal charges against the bank or its employees.

The US Justice Department has given banks December deadline to come clean about wrongdoing into the rigging of currency benchmarks.

The interviews come after the UK, US and Swiss regulators collectively slapped fine totaling $3.4bn on banking giants UBS, HSBC, Citigroup, RBS and JPMorgan over allegations of price fixing in the foreign exchange market.
