New York-based Lebenthal Asset Management has purchased Atlanta-based Aurora Investment Counsel, a SEC-registered investment advisor for an undisclosed sum.
The acquisition is expected to add $250m to Lebenthal’s total asset under management.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Headed by president and portfolio manager David Yucius and director of marketing Michael Doyle, Aurora Investment Counsel offers asset management services for foundations, endowments, corporations, public funds, Taft-Hartley plans and individuals.
Yucius said: "We are excited to be able to build off of the added strengths of Lebenthal’s personnel, and also to see Aurora’s investment approach become deliverable to a broader audience via Lebenthal’s platform and product extensions."
Doyle said: "Being able to continue our boutique service traditions and offer our capabilities to a broader range of clientele is an inspiring opportunity."
