Global long/short equity investment manager Caledonia (Private) Investments has appointed David Scully as its vice chairman, USA.
Based in New York, Scully will serve as an advisor on business strategy; manage the creation of a business development and client service team to support the firm’s global institutional investors.

Scully previously worked as a partner and chief marketing officer at Coatue Management. From 1989 to 2002, he held several roles at Sanford C. Bernstein, Salomon Brothers, JP Morgan, and IBM.
In addition, the company also appointed Michael Messara as its co-CIO and Augie Sciulla as head of marketing, USA.
Messara, formerly a senior portfolio manager at Caledonia, will share the new role with Will Vicars who headed the investment team for the past five years. Prior to joining Caledonia in 2006, he served for five years at UBS in Sydney.
Sciulla previously was head of business development and investor relations at Ardmore Global Investors, and before that worked as managing director of business development and investor relations for two years at alternative asset manager JAT Capital Management.
