Swiss private bank Bordier & Cie has hired Roberto Islas from HSBC Private Bank to head its new international desk, effective March 2015.
In his new role, Islas will be responsible for establishing and expanding the firm’s new international operation, reported Investment Week.

Islas, who will join Bordier’s board, will also support the firm in identifying personnel for the desk, targeting senior relationship managers with international skills.
The firm’s international desk will serve the need of resident non-domiciled and international clients.
Islas joined Bordier from HSBC Private Bank, where he served several roles including director in its private bank and also as head of HSBC’s new Latin American desk. Before joining HSBC, he worked with the Royal Bank of Canada and Citigroup.
Bordier & Cie CEO Jamie MacLeod said: "Roberto will take the lead in our drive to recruit a multi-disciplinary team for the new division, building out our new proposition and the profile of the international desk."
