Investment and financial planning firm Tilney Bestinvest has named James Collings as its new group compliance director.
In his new role, Collings will manage the design and oversight of the regulatory compliance framework for group, and will be based in Tilney Bestinvest’s Mayfair headquarters.

The appointment of Collings is yet to get the necessary regulatory go-ahead.
Collings most recently served at Schroders, where he worked as compliance head at the firm’s UK private banking division for eight years prior to his appointment as head of compliance, infrastructure, in December 2012.
During his last two years at Schroders, Collings managed the core operations of the UK asset management compliance function and the co-ordination of the regulatory change agenda, as well as led a global project to implement a new web-based system for personal account dealing and compliance certifications.
Further, Collings also served as a solicitor for eight years at Linklaters before being appointed as a legal and regulatory adviser at Merrill Lynch in 1998.
