Amundi Alternative Investments has appointed Navik Patel as its new head of directional strategies.

Patel will be based in the company’s London office in his new role. He has 15 years of financial service experience, which includes 11 years of hedge fund industry experience as an analyst and portfolio manager.

Patel began his career in 1999 Coutts & Co, working first as a valuation analyst / head of valuations and later as an analyst in 2002.

He joined Amundi from Aberdeen Asset Management, where he was most recently a senior investment manager within the firm’s alternative investments business.

Before that, he served in the position of a portfolio manager/ senior analyst at RBS Asset Management from 2004.

In 2008, he moved to New York to set up a presence for RBS Asset Management. In that role, he was responsible for research of US based managers across all strategies.
