State Street, a US-based financial services holding company, has named Ron O’Hanley as the new head of its asset management business.
O’Hanley will succeed Scott Powers at the beginning of April, and will report to State Street chairman and CEO Jay Hooley.

Powers, who served over seven years in the role of chief executive of State Street Global Advisors, is set to retire later this year.
Most recently, O’Hanley served as president of asset management and corporate services at Fidelity Investments.
Prior to Fidelity, O’Hanley held leadership roles at Mellon Bank and Bank of New York Mellon for 13 years.
O’Hanley also served at McKinsey & Company from 1986 to 1997. He was elected a partner in 1992 and set up the Investment Management practice worldwide.
