Swiss private bank EFG International has appointed Michael Vlahovic as the managing directors for private banking in Eastern Europe and Russia.
Apart from the position of managing director, Vlahovic will also serve in the role of global market coordinator for CEE and Russia, effective from 1 July.

Vlahovic will be based in Zurich and will report to Adrian Kyriazi, CEO of continental Europe and private banking head in Switzerland.
Vlahovic previously served at Coutts & Co, where he was a member of the general management committee responsible for the bank’s business in Russia/CIS, and was chairman of the management committee of its Monaco branch.
Earlier, he served at Credit Suisse for 15 years. At Credit Suisse, he held the role of managing director, head private banking, covering Russia, Central Europe, Central Asia and Greece from 2006-10.
Vlahovic served as private banking head, based in Zurich from 2000-06, where he was responsible for teams of bankers covering the UK, Israel, South Africa, Nordic Countries and The Netherlands.

By GlobalDataThe group has also appointed Basile Samarine as managing director for private banking in Eastern Europe and Russia. He will report to Vlahovic and will be based in Geneva.
Samarine previously served at Coutts and Co, where, he held the role of managing Director, responsible for the Russia/CIS department in Geneva from 2010-15.
From 2006-10, he served as head of the Russia/CIS desk at Credit Suisse, Geneva.
From 1998-2006, he served at UBS in multiple roles which include head of the Russia/CIS desk in London and country head, Eastern European Republics, based in Geneva.
