State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) has appointed Miles O’Connor as head of institutional for EMEA, with immediate effect.
Based in London, O’Connor will oversee SSGA’s existing institutional client relationships as well as develop new business in the region.

He will also join SSGA’s executive management team and will report to the firm’s EMEA head Cuan Coulter and its president and CEO Cyrus Taraporavela.
O’Connor joins from Unigestion (UK), where he served as the chairman and non-executive director.
His financial services career of over 37 years also includes stints as head of EMEA institutional and head of UK Institutional at Schroders Investment Management and CEO at Schroders NewFinance Capital.
Previously, he also worked at Barclays Global Investors, Bank of America Investment Management, and Coutts & Co.
