American asset management firm Northern Trust has appointed Edwin Chan to lead sales across the alternatives fund sectors in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

Chan will be responsible for accelerating the growth of specialist alternative asset servicing capabilities across private equity, real estate, infrastructure, renewable energy and debt funds.

In the new role, he will report to Northern Trust Corporate & Institutional Services (C&IS) EMEA institutional sales manager, John Grundy.

Chan most recently served as the senior director in business development at SS&C GlobeOp. His industry experience of over 18 years also includes senior roles at HSBC in Hong Kong, Citi in Bermuda, Wells Fargo and Black River Asset Management in the UK.
