Woodford Investment Management has expanded its investment and operations teams by appointing six new members.

The company has hired Lucinda Crabtree, Richard Lockington and Harry Raikes as new investment analysts to the investment team, led by Neil Woodford.

The three investment analysts will work closely with fund managers Paul Lamacraft, Saku Saha and Stephen Lamacraft.

Crabtree previously worked in various analyst roles covering the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors at a number of investment banks, including Panmure Gordon, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan.

Prior to joining Woodford, Lockington worked with Duff & Phelps, where he worked as a senior associate, while Raikes joined from Envestors, where he conducted due diligence on companies seeking up to £10m of equity funding.

Additionally, the operations team will include new hires namely Mohammad Sohail, James Coats and Dominic Eccles.

In his new role, Sohail will serve as a dealing and trade operations specialist to assist Grant Wentzel, head of trading. Coats and Eccles will support the operations team.

Sohail joined Woodford from Ruffer, while Coats joined from MSK Capital Partners, where he worked as head of operations, while Eccles joins from BP’s asset management arm.

Woodford Investment Management CEO Craig Newman said: "The new roles are a reflection of an evolving, ambitious business that is growing significantly.

"The investment analyst roles will provide valuable resource for our fund managers, while the operational hires are further evidence of our commitment to building a fund management company with a cutting-edge infrastructure."

The new hires will bring the total employee count at Woodford to 35.
