BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has bolstered its institutional business line by hiring Guy Williams as new chief investment officer to boost investment expertise, research and thought leadership capabilities.
The firm has also hired Daniel Morris as senior investment strategist and Richard Barwell as senior economist.

In his new role, Williams will be in charge for promoting collaboration across investment teams, and developing investment strategy and market views.
Previously, Williams CIO of BNPP IP’s global fixed income affiliate Fischer, Francis, Trees & Watts (FFTW), where he developed BNPP IP’s global fixed income platform across a range of strategies.
He will be succeeded by Dominick DeAlto, who becomes CIO and head of FFTW and BNP Paribas IP’s institutional fixed income.
DeAlto will be responsible for expanding BNPP IP’s fixed income platform, which now has over 75 investment staff and manages 40 investment strategies. He previously served as head of global multi-sector and sector rotation at BNPP IP.

By GlobalDataAdditionally, Morris and Barwell will be responsible for promoting collaboration between investment teams and formulate alpha-generating investment views across all asset classes.
Furthermore, DeAlto has expanded his team by appointing Timothy Johnson as head of total return multi-sector, which is a combination of the global multi-sector and global sovereign teams, and Dan Singleman as senior portfolio manager in the sector rotation alpha team.
Johnson joined FFTW in early 2013, while Singleman formerly worked as a credit analyst and portfolio manager at BNPP IP. Singleman left BNPP IP in 2014 to assume a broader asset allocation role.
