Segall Bryant & Hamill (SBH), an investment management firm with $9.7bn in AuM, has purchased Trees Investment Counsel, a provider of investment counsel and management for affluent individual investors, families, and trusts and estates for an undisclosed sum.
As part of the deal, Tress Investment founding principal Jay Trees, Scott Newhall, president and CIO as well as Tina Fitzwater, vice president and chief administrative officer of Trees will join SBH’s private wealth management business.

SBH’s Private Wealth Management unit has over $3bn in assets with offices in Chicago and Naples.
SBH CEO Phil Hildebrandt said: "We see tremendous growth potential in private wealth management as we combine institutional quality investment research with a custom tailored service offering.
