Barclays launches structured product platform for UK market

Barclays has launched a wealth management platform called Comet that aims at pricing, trading and executing structured investments.

The platform has been launched for the UK market and it can handle equity indices, stocks, ETFs, ADRs, and precious metals.

Comet will enable bespoke trades at smaller sizes by automating documentation at the quote and execution stages.

Additionally, users will also be able to set parameters such as size, timing of trades, structure, economic terms, and underlying.

Currently, the platform is available for wealth managers in Europe, US and Asia, and it handles more than 90,000 intraday pricing requests per month.
