Richards has joined the company from Maitland where he was previously a senior investment manager within its investment services business on the Isle of Man.
Before that, he had also held other investment positions for Ramsey Crookall and Quilter.

In his new role, Richards will be based on the Isle of Man, reporting to chief executive, Mike Balfour and will lead a team of investment managers and assistants to continue development of the company’s offshore private client investment business.
Commenting on the appointment, Thomas Miller Investment chief executive Mike Balfour said, "Tom’s appointment will add to our existing experience and expertise and Andrew’s new role will serve to strengthen our platform for growth into new territories."
Additionally, Thomas Miller Investment has also appointed Andrew Buchanan to the new position of senior associate private investment management for the Channel Islands.
Currently, Thomas Miller Investment has funds under management in excess of GBP2.8 billion and manages tailored investment portfolios for insurance mutuals, charities, pension schemes, governments and private clients.
