With more than 50 years of combined banking experience, the team will be responsible for expanding the firm’s investment banking services to public sector and nonprofit clients in the western United States.

Ms. Hines joins from Raymond James’s San Francisco office, where she was a managing director and western region manager in public finance. Before that, she spent eight years with Merrill Lynch & Co. in San Francisco as a director. Prior to that, Ms. Hines held senior roles at Goldman Sachs & Co. and Morgan Stanley & Co., both in San Francisco. She earned her B.A. and M.B.A. from Stanford University.
Mr. Gillespie joins from Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) and brings a diverse background in investment banking, retail distribution, and trading. Mr. Gillespie earned his B.S. from the University of Illinois and his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
Mr. Pickett joins from Raymond James’s San Francisco office, where he was a vice president in public finance. Before that, he worked at Jefferies & Company, Inc., BAML, and RBC Capital Markets. He earned his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles and his M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
Last year, William Blair expanded its technology investment banking team in San Francisco with the addition of Robert Abbe, Per-Ake Stahl, and Charles Ruppert. In July 2012, the firm also enhanced its capabilities in competitive underwriting, sales, and trading with the addition of Joel Marshall, Richard Genitempo, Dan Tracy, and Maureen Hunter to its New York municipal bond team.
