Mr. Itai Ben-Zeev is to be appointed a member of management and Head of the Capital Markets Division, reporting to Deputy Chief Executive Officer Prof. Daniel Tsiddon. Prof. Tsiddon will also be in charge of the Private Banking function in Israel and abroad, headed by Ms. Nitza Russo-Stauber, and the Bank’s Strategy and International Operations Division.
In addition, the Leumi Board of Directors decided to adopt the recommendation of the President and CEO of the Group, and recommend to the Board of Directors of Bank Leumi USA to appoint Mr. Avner Mendelson as Chief Executive Officer of Bank Leumi USA. Subject to adoption of the recommendation by the Bank Leumi USA Board of Directors, Mr. Mendelson will replace Mr. Itzhak Eyal, who is to retire at the end of this year.
The above appointments are subject to the non-objection of the Supervisor of Banks, should this be required. The appointments in the Bank’s subsidiaries abroad are also subject to approval by the local regulatory authorities.
Mr. Itai Ben-Zeev, 38, has a BA in Law from Tel-Aviv University and is a graduate of the Merrill Lynch Analyst Training Program, and has worked for Leumi for about ten years. In his present position, he serves as Deputy Head of the Capital Markets Division, and is responsible for the Bank’s trading rooms and institutional customers. Prior to that, he held a number of managerial positions in the Capital Markets Division, including the Forex and Derivatives Trading Room Department and Trading Room Manager. Before joining Leumi, Mr. Ben- Zeev held a number of positions in the Merrill Lynch Group in London, New York and Israel.

He has worked for the Bank for six years. In his present position, Mr. Mendelson serves as Head of Strategy and International Operations of the Bank, and prior to that he was the Chief of Staff and Personal Assistant to the President and CEO. Before joining Leumi, Mr. Mendelson worked in the London Branch of the international consultants firm McKinsey.
Mr. Itzhak Eyal, who is retiring at the end of the year, after 38 years within the Leumi Group, is concluding a long and outstanding career, during which he served, among other positions, as CEO of the Arab-Israel Bank, Manager of Leumi France, and Regional Manager in the Banking Division of Leumi.
