The acquisition will make Optimix a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swedish bank, which operates with 23 branches in the Netherlands.
Handelsbanken said that the deal will initially have a marginal impact on its financial position.
Handelsbanken Netherlands head Mikael Sorensen said: "Handelsbanken is steadily growing in the Netherlands, particularly among customers with high requirements for advanced wealth management. This purchase makes it possible for us to broaden our offering to these customers. It is also a vital step in our evolution towards becoming a full-service bank in the Netherlands."
