The UCITS structured, Luxembourg domiciled F&C Global Smaller Cap Equity fund will go live at the end of June 2013 and will be run by Catherine Stanley, who also manages the GBP94.4 million F&C UK Smaller Companies fund.
F&C said, the ‘high conviction fund’ will hold between 80 and 100 stocks and have limited benchmark restrictions regarding geographical or sector positions.

It will invest mainly in companies with a market cap of between US$200 million and US$7 billion and aim to deliver long-term capital growth and outperformance of the MSCI World Small Cap Index over a rolling three-year period.
F&C head of product management, Martin Smith, said: "Against a supportive economic backdrop, and with IPO activity in the small cap sector intensifying, the fund will provide simple and cost-effective one-stop access to what we believe to be the very best smaller companies drawn from across the world’s major developed markets."
