London-based Odey Asset Management is set to launch a global long-only equity fund for its star long/short equity manager James Hanbury, reported FT Adviser.
According to the publication, the fund will be domiciled in Ireland but with a sterling share class available to UK investors and will follow the same investment format as Crispin Odey’s funds.

Hanbury currently manages the soft-closed GBP504.2 million CF Odey Absolute Return fund, which is the top-performing fund in the IMA Absolute Return sector since its launch in May 2009.
According to FE Analytics, the CF Odey Absolute Return fund generated a return of 133% and the new fund will utilize the long book from that fund.
