Equity manager Martin Currie’s head of UK intermediary business, Alan Burnett, is leaving to join Lyxor Asset Management, after nine years at the firm.

Burnett is set to leave Martin Currie at the beginning of June 2013.

He will be replaced by David Townsend, who has already been head of UK institutional and global consultant relations at Martin Currie for five years, effective immediately.

With more than 20 years experience in financial services, Burnett joined Martin Currie in July 2004, having worked in sales roles at Liontrust Asset Management and AXA Investment Managers.

Townsend joined Martin Currie in 2008. Prior to this he held roles including head of international sales and director of institutional sales at Axa Investment Management and Axa Framlington.

Martin Currie managing director of sales, marketing and client service, Andy Sowerby, said: "Townsend will now assume ownership for our UK business and his vast experience will further enable us to develop our client relationships as we continue to establish ourselves as a fund provider of choice in the UK."
