ING Investment Management International (ING IM) has added two senior executives to its Emerging Market Debt (EMD) team. Jerry Brewin joins as head of EMD while Marcelo Assalin has been appointed lead portfolio manager Local Currency.
Brewin, based in The Hague, will be responsible for leadership of the team, as well as the overall management, investment process and results of all EMD portfolios and strategies globally.

Brewin will be reporting to ING IM International chief investment officer, Hans Stoter, and Assalin will report to Brewin.
Brewin previously worked at Aviva Investors as head of Emerging Market Debt and also launched Aviva Investors’ first emerging market debt fund in 2000.
Brewin has extensive experience in the Middle East and Asia, and has held positions within BNP Paribas, Citibank, Gulf Investment Corporation and ANB AMRO.
Assalin was previously senior vice president/head of EMD sovereign debt at ING US Investment Management, ING IM International’s sister company. He has more than 13 years’ experience managing emerging market debt portfolios.
