British alternative asset manager Man Group has appointed Jamie Douglas, from JP Morgan, as chief executive of its Australian business, Financial Standard reported.
In his new role, Douglas will be reporting to Man chief executive Emmanuel Roman. He will have responsibility for giving local and international investors access to Man’s range of products.

Douglas, who has 27 years investment experience, joins from JP Morgan’s London office where he spent the past five years working in the chief investment office as managing director responsible for all foreign exchange and emerging markets.
Prior to JP Morgan, he was with a number of investment banks including Bankers Trust.
Roman said: "Jamie’s extensive global investment and financial advisory experience, including a deep knowledge and understanding of Asian markets, will ensure that Man’s Australian investors have access to our full range of alternative products and strategies.
"We see Australia as an integral part of the Asian growth story. Jamie will continue to build our retail and institutional business in this highly attractive market, including establishing an on the ground portfolio management business," Financial Standard quoted him saying.
