Michael Bargholz, country head of Fidelity, said: "The firm’s top-performing Australian equities provision will be grown to include a mid and small cap equity fund. The new strategy will invest in the ASX 300 minus the index’s 50 largest companies."

Bargholz also confirmed that the Global Strategic Bond fund, headed-up by Andy Weir, would be launched to Australia investors before the end of 2013. The fund will invest internationally and hedged back to the Australian dollar.

The launch will mark the first time Fidelity has had a fixed income capability in Australia, Bargholz told Financial Standard.

"We’re bringing to the market a benchmark unaware fixed income product, calibrated to the market we are in today," added Bargholz.
