UBS has strengthened its presence in Southeast Asia with the appointment of Gan Seow Ann as vice chairman, UBS Wealth Management South East Asia and APAC Hub, effective mid- August 2013.

Based in Singapore, Seow Ann will report to Edmund Koh, country head, Singapore and CEO of UBS Wealth Management Southeast Asia and APAC Hub.

Seow Ann was until recently president of Singapore Exchange (SGX), where he had a distinguished career. He was responsible for developing and growing the community of participants for the stock exchange and derivatives exchange and market access services.

He also led the drive to establish SGX as the premier listings venue for IPOs and debt raising capital. During his 11-year tenure with SGX, Seow Ann was actively involved in engaging regulators in the region to enhance the rules framework for the capital markets. Prior to joining SGX, he was managing director at Merrill Lynch responsible for the equities market in Southeast Asia.
