Standard Chartered has appointed David Nichols as head of cash equity sales, Hong Kong. He will be based in Hong Kong and report to Tim Andrew, global head of cash equities.

In this newly created role, David will be responsible for leading Standard Chartered’s efforts to expand cash equity sales initiatives in Hong Kong. This is aligned to the bank’s ongoing momentum to invest in and grow our equities business capabilities.

David joins the Bank from Nomura, where he was global co-head of equity sales for Asia Pacific. He previously held senior positions at Lehman Brothers and Deutsche, and brings more than 13 years of sales experience to Standard Chartered.

As part of Standard Chartered’s Equity build out, the bank has also recently appointed Min Park as global head of equity derivatives and convertibles sales, Mike Garcia as head of Hong Kong equities sales trading, and Jamie White as director, equities sales trading.
