American financial services firm Raymond James has appointed David Patchen as senior vice president for its private client group (PCG) effective 1 September 2013.

Patchen, a regional director for the firm’s independent broker/dealer, Raymond James Financial Services (RJFS), will become senior vice president of PCG education and practice management.

In his new role, Patchen will lead and direct several functions, including new advisor and experienced advisor education, conferences and practice management.

Patchen will also coordinate with business leaders across the company to support advisor productivity and contribute to succession planning and practice acquisition initiatives.

Raymond James CEO of the global PCG Chet Helck said, "David will continue Raymond James’ emphasis on advisor education, including helping financial advisors take best advantage of the products and services offered by Raymond James so that they can grow their businesses."

Patchen, as a regional director for RJFS, oversaw 450 advisors across 217 branches, which is expected to generate $175m revenues in 2013.
