Bank of America has named Alexandre Bettamio as new head of its Latin America division.
In his new role, Bettamio will be based in New York.

Currently, Bettamio is CEO of the firm’s investment-banking arm in Brazil. Bettamio was a former banker at UBS AG and Banco Pactual.
Kerrie McHugh, spokeswoman for Bank of America, said that replacement to lead Brazil has not been named.
Under Bettamio’s leadership, the bank rose in rankings for mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt capital markets in Brazil, while increasing advisory and lending deals in Latin America’s economy.
Bettamio said that the bank plans to boost hiring in Brazil and increase a US$10 billion loan portfolio there by 40% after it tripled in the past three years.
