The fund managers optimise the allocation to the Pillars depending upon market situations and as and when opportunities are identified. This unique approach to commodity investing will allow for uncapped, consistent returns that are not correlated to the movements in commodity prices.

According to Aaron Pacitti, director and co-founder of yAs Investment Management, the fund has been launched as there is a distinct lack of options available when investing into commodities.

Traditionally, investors are made to choose between physical only funds, trading funds or arbitrage funds. All of these options have various risks associated with them due to market volatility, liquidity or exposure to a specific mine.

The Columna Commodities Fund is unique by combing all these elements in one fund it allows for investors to have exposure to all types of commodity investment within one fund. This will allow for a highly liquid fund that can outperform commodity markets regardless of bull or bear market conditions.

Pacitti continued to say, "Another issue we have identified within the marketplace is the lack of Sicav Commodity funds available. The market place is flooded with funds domiciled in offshore jurisdictions however in light of recent developments we believe that investors number one priority is now the security and liquidity or their money. We hold exactly the same view and took the decision to domicile the fund in Luxembourg."

The Columna Commodities Sicav fund have appointed ABN Amro as custodians and PWC auditors. The fund has also instructed Apex Fund Services as the Administrators.
