In his new role, Botham will report to Schroders’ chief economist Ketih Wade and work alongside Azad Zangana, the firm’s European economist.

Prior to working at the PRA, Botham had worked in a similar role for the Financial Services Authority, undertaking a secondment to the International Monetary Fund, where he monitored and reported on market relevant events for the EMEA and developed market sovereigns.

Wade said: "The addition of an emerging markets specialist to the economics team will allow us to provide more detailed and in-depth analysis on the region in the future."
