Goldman Sachs Group’s vice chairman Michael Evans is set to retire at the year end after more than 20 years at the firm.

Following the retirement, Evans will continue with the firm serving as a senior director.

Evans joined Goldman Sachs in 1993 and headed up various businesses such as investment banking division in London, equity capital markets in both New York and London, and also securities division.

In 2011, he was named as global head of growth markets, responsible for driving the firm’s strategy, resource allocation and many client relationships across the firm in the important markets.
