British financial planning firm Brewin Dolphin has appointed Ian Dewar as its new non-executive director with immediate effect.
Also, Dewar will become chairman of the wealth firm’s audit committee after its annual general meeting in February 2014.
Dewar joins from KPMG where he served as a partner for 19 years. During this period, he held various roles, including audit, practice management, advisory and client relationship.
He has spent the last 27 years working in the financial services sector and has also served as a non-executive trustee in the charity sector.
Simon Miller, chairman of Brewin Dolphin, said: "I am delighted that Dewar has joined the board of Brewin Dolphin. He brings important skills and knowledge to the board, with a wide ranging experience of the financial services industry."
