People’s United Bank has appointed Galan Daukas as senior executive vice president, responsible for its wealth management business.
Daukas, who has over 25 years of industry, most recently served as executive vice president at Washington Trust Wealth Management, where he was responsible for all investment management, trust, financial planning, mutual fund management and insurance units.

Earlier to this, Daukas served as chief operating officer at Harbor Capital Management and Fleet Investment Advisors.
Daukas began his career at Fleet Financial Group and moved to Drexel Burnham Lambert as a portfolio manager and then to Booz-Allen & Hamilton as a consultant.
