UBS has appointed Roberto Speranza as new head of EMEA financial institutions debt capital markets business replacing Robert Ellison, who has left the firm to pursue outside opportunities.
In his new role, Speranza will report to Fabio Lisanti, global co-head of DCM, according to Reuters.

Additionally, James Marriott, who is currently running UK and Ireland FIG DCM, will expand his roles to cover the Nordic region.
Marriott will work alongside Ben Smyth, head of Benelux FIG DCM and Susanna Norum in covering the Nordic FIG clients.
In December last year, UBS has merged its liability management and capital solutions team and has appointed Barry Donlon to head the new team.
The move follows a line of departures in the bank’s financial institutions group (FIG) business, which included Johan Eriksson, UBS’s EMEA head of global capital solutions, Eva Porz, who also worked in capital solutions, and Anthony Tobin, who worked on the FIG syndicate desk.
