Charles Stanley’s director and head of compliance Venetia Malpas has departed the firm in November to take early retirement.
Malpas’s role has been filled on a temporary basis by Charles Stanley financial services division chief operation officer Ben Money-Coutts, who will work alongside Peter Kelk, a senior secondment introduced by the firm’s internal auditors Grant Thornton.

Charles Stanley is currently looking externally for a replacement.
The firm said that Malpas will continue to provide assistance to the board on a number of special projects for the foreseeable future.
Malpas has joined Charles Stanley following the firm’s acquisition of Shaw & Co in December 1997.
In March 2003, she served as deputy compliance manager replacing Eric Hurrell and also as director of compliance to the operating board of the firm in April 2003.
Earlier to this, Malpas has also worked for actuaries and pension consultant EBS Management and investment brokers Garrison Investment Analysis.
