The fund is currently being managed by BNY Mellon’s US subsidiary the Boston Company Asset Management, according to Investment Week.

The fund, which is run by Elizabeth Slover, director of The Boston Company’s global research team, will invest in large-cap US stocks. However, the changes will allow the fund to invest across the market-cap spectrum.

As part of the change, the fund will be renamed from BNY Mellon American to The Boston Company US Opportunities.

The firm said: "It is proposed to reposition the fund to give it the ability to invest in companies of all sizes, thereby giving it access to the broader US equity market.

"While the fund will have a greater choice of companies in which to invest, it will hold fewer companies than it currently does as we believe a concentrated portfolio is better placed to deliver long-term growth," it added.
