Square Mile Investment Consulting & Research is planning to launch a new fund ratings service as well as a recommended fund list.
Square Mile’s fund ratings service will assign A, AA and AAA ratings to portfolios, according to Investment Week.

In addition, the ratings service will be available for free to advisers and wholesalers, while recommended funds list will be available on the Square Mile’s website.
The recommended funds list will be chosen from a range of around 2,800 funds using qualitative research and will focus on finding new managers and providing views on new strategies run by managers.
Romer-Lee, managing director of the group, said: "We will aim to have a list of 120-150 core funds and a list of 250-300 rated portfolios."
Since the launch of the business in September, Romer-Lee and Nigel Whittingham have set up a six member executive management team and will continue to make new hires to the investment team.
