Based in Washington, DC, Lebowitz will be responsible to provide guidance on policy and regulatory issues impacting Evercore Trust clients and consult on specific engagements.
Lebowitz most recently retired from the Department of Labor. He served various roles in the Employee Plans area at the Internal Revenue Service, as chief of the prohibited transactions staff.

Previously, he also served as deputy assistant secretary for program operations for the Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA) and as EBSA’s chief operating officer, leading EBSA’s regulatory, enforcement and reporting activities. Lebowitz also served as the acting assistant secretary of labor for EBSA.
