HSBC Private Bank, the private banking business of the HSBC Group, has appointed Joe Abruzzo as its new business head of North America.
Abruzzo will be based in New York, responsible for carrying out the bank’s strategy for private banking across North America, especially the US.

He will also become a member of the HSBC Global Private Bank executive committee.
In the new role, Abruzzo will report to regional head of global private banking, US & Latin America Marlon Young.
Abruzzo joined HSBC as head of Northeast corporate banking in 2014, and was most recently HSBC’s head of US large corporate banking. He was also appointed as the bank’s co-head of US corporate banking.
Prior to joining HSBC, he had a 26-year spell at JP Morgan Chase, where he held several senior leader roles in commercial and corporate and investment banking.
