Raymond James has agreed to acquire Clark Capital Management Group, an asset manager based in Philadelphia with more than $46bn in managed assets.  

The transaction is expected to be finalised by the third quarter of 2026, pending regulatory approval and standard closing conditions.

Clark Capital, established in 1986 by Harry Clark, offers a range of investment solutions including multi-asset-class portfolios, proprietary model portfolios, and mutual funds. 

The firm works primarily with financial advisers and their clients, providing tailored investment strategies and wealth planning services.  

Upon completion of the acquisition, Clark Capital will continue to operate under its own name as an independent boutique within Raymond James Investment Management.  

The existing leadership, investment approach, and service model at Clark Capital are set to remain unchanged, according to statements released regarding the deal.

Raymond James Investment Management currently operates a multi-boutique structure with several investment teams such as Chartwell Investment Partners, ClariVest Asset Management, Cougar Global Investments, Eagle Asset Management, Reams Asset Management, and Scout Investments.  

The arrangement combines business scale and operational support while allowing affiliated firms to retain independence in their operations.

In June last year, Raymond James formed a partnership with FNZ to develop new digital wealth management platforms, with Raymond James making investments towards modernising its technology infrastructure.
